Ministries

LOVING  GOD,  LOVING PEOPLE,  TRANSFORMING THE WORLD

As the children of God, we come in many different ages, with various gifts, wants and needs. At Community Presbyterian Church we not only want to preach God's Good News and pray for each other, but also build loving relationships that encourage loving God, loving our Neighbors, and transforming the World.

We offer ministry programs for Children and Youth, Adult Fellowship and Study Groups, Small Group gatherings, Support Groups and Musical opportunities.

Music Ministry

Chancel Choir:

We blend our gifts and talents together each Sunday morning in the singing of hymns and anthems. We offer seasonal presentations throughout the year as well. The tie which binds this choir together is the joy of lifting our praises of God in music. Perhaps you would like to share that joy?

During the summer our choir usually meets at 9:00 AM on Sundays to practice an anthem for the 10:00 AM service.

Carillon Handbell Choir:

This handbell choir Is a dedicated group of our most experienced players, both youth and adults. They have a high commitment level as they rehearse weekly for presentations in worship.

Personal Support Services

Prayer Support-

We believe our loving God listens to and compassionately answers our prayers. Because of this we maintain an active prayer list that we encourage the congregation to pray for daily. We have a different prayer family weekly, which is a family in the church that has not voiced a particular need but was chosen randomly. We also pray for our Deacon's Special Friends, our Military people connected to someone in the church, our college students, a mission focus, and those who request prayers. Anyone can put in a prayer request on Sunday morning or by contacting the church office. Click here to submit a prayer request. During the week the office emails those on the email prayer list all the current prayer concerns.

Deacons-

Our Deacons offer "caring support" to those connected with our church. For those with health problems they make hospital visits, send cards, and make phone calls. They also keep connected with those who may leave the area because of health concerns to let them know their church community and God still cares about them. When they learn of someone going through the grieving process they send booklets every few months for a year after they have experience a lost. They provide "These Days" spiritual guidance booklets available to all in the narthex  of the church. They also keep food in the church freezer available for anyone who may stop by hungry. They prayerfully look for ways to be Christ's hands and feet in the community.

Stephen's Ministry-

Our Stephen's Ministers are lay members of the church who have been trained to give "one to one confidential care" to someone who is going through a tough time in their life. The Stephen Minister usually meets with the individual care receiver once a week for a hour. The lay care giver is trained in a Christ-centered experience to learn how to listen to, care for, and walk with those going through difficult times in life. If you feel a Stephen Minister may help you contact Pastor Wendy.

Helping Hands-

Do you have a small project around home that you are not able to do? Helping Hands will do yard work, clean gutters, repairs in home, build shelves, etc.
